How did you get into the sport of ice oval racing?
I started sprint oval racing when I was twelve years old. My father and his good friend mark started racing in 1999. They set me up a fan cooled sno pro in 2001 and raced out of a 20 ft bumper pull car hauler. Since then it has been a snow ball effect, and I don't regret any minute of it.
What has changed since becoming a Pro Racer?
The only thing that has changed since becoming a pro is the expectations of me. As a junior or sport racer you do not have to train year around, or train at all.
What has been your favorite race memory thus far?
My favorite memory is in 2009 when I won the Pro Stock 600 class at eagle river I drove by the pits and my father jumped on the back of my sled to ride around for the victory lap.
Having your season end early last year because of an injury what are your goals for this season?
My goals for this season are to win at Eagle and Valcourt. That has been my focus the day I could start using my broken hand.
How is your new track going to give you and advantage?
My new oval track is sick. I replicated turn one and two from eagle and now have it in my back yard. The turn is dirty, and looks stupid fast. This track will benefit me to give me all the seat time in the world, and the team to test chassis and motor set up all week. We will have a full-time team working this year, and with me out of college full-time racing. We have no excuse’s.
What is one thing you always take with you when your travel?
I always take my mac book, and extra eye contacts.
Best place on earth?
St. Clair river on my stand up jet ski.
How have your sponsors helped you?
I would not be able to race without my sponsors. Having a ten race schedule adds up to an expensive winter. Getting the support allows Chartier Motorsports to be a top sprint ice oval race team.
